North Inch Apartment is a brand new one bedroom garden apartment conversion in the elegant Georgian Rose Terrace, completed in the early 19th Century, so it is actually over 200 years old ! Rose Terrace is situated overlooking Perth’s famous North Inch parkland, and although the apartment is a semi-basement it is actually surprisingly light.
The lounge is comfortably furnished with a reclining sofa and Italian wood-framed armchair. There’s a small TV, DVD player, radio and CD player. The traditional multi-paned window looks out partly onto the basement area and across the North Inch itself.
The kitchen is well equipped with gas hob and electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge freezer, and washer-dryer. The kitchen window gives a similar outlook to that of the lounge. The kitchen and dining area is partially separated from the lounge by a dividing wall which gives the whole area a bit of an open plan feel.
A short passageway leads through to the bedroom and adjacent luxurious bathroom. The bedroom has a kingsize (5 foot) double bed, 2 chests of drawers, plenty of built in wardrobe space and a curtained glazed door which leads out to the sheltered garden area.
The bathroom is fully tiled, and has a modern 3 piece bathrom suite with a shower over the bath. Heating is via radiators fed from a gas boiler which also supplies hot water. The apartment is warm and well insulated, and there is no charge for heating or electricity.
On-street parking is readily available immediately outside, and money for the meter is provided.
The location of this apartment is perfect; with the North Inch (park) opposite and the River Tay a short stroll on one hand, and shops, restaurants, theatre and the excellent Horsecross Concert Hall in the other direction. All the delights of this historic town may be enjoyed on foot. The Reformation Kirk of St Johns is central in the town, and neaby are character shops, restaurant & café quarter, pubs, cinema, museums, ice-rink, swimming pool, award-winning parks and gardens are all there to explore. Visit Perth's excellent Museum and Art Gallery, The Fergusson Gallery, research your ancestry at the Bell Library. Stroll though the Sculpture Trail on the banks of the Tay, and visit the National Trust for Scotland's gem at Branklyn Garden featuring alpines and a wide variety of rhododendrons and azaleas. A bus ride from the town will take you to Scone Palace, crowning place of the Kings of Scotland or to one of the Meetings at the nearby Race Course.
Perth is a wonderful city to visit in its own right and is also the perfect base for exploring much of Scotland, with its golf courses (more than 40 in Perthshire alone), historic sights, mountains, scenic countryside and coast. Edinburgh, St Andrews, Glamis Castle, Stirling and Glasgow are all about an hour's drive. Dundee, Pitlochry and Blair Castle about 40 minutes' drive. The charming cathedral town of Dunkeld lies not far to the north of Perth, situated on the banks of the Tay in Perthshire's Big Tree Country, it was also frequently visited on holiday by the children's author Beatrix Potter to whom there is a dedicated garden and vistitor centre. The famous Gleneagles Hotel Golf Courses are about 25 minutes' drive. Walk on Kinnoull Hill, the nearby Moncrieffe Hill, the Sidlaws, the Ochils and the Dunkeld and Aberfeldy areas. You will find so many things to do and see in the area you will certainly want to return again and again!
Perth enjoys excellent Rail and Bus links with all parts of the United Kingdom. The London Kings Cross train calls in at Perth every day.
